Foot Loose

This is a collection of diverse shots, taken haphazardly in various locations around the world. They don't belong to any specific series or didn't fit in with the theme of other series, so they are free, wild and unbridled. You could say, these are the misfit toys of my portfolio. But you know what they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

The Tree Shadow (Plus Complement)

Mediterranean Pine Tree Shadow
What I truly love about this picture in particular it's the fact that street photography is so unpredictable and full of surprises. Even the most boring location can unexpectedly turn to be a source of wonder. This time I was lucky to be there at the right time, on the right day. And with my eyes and mind open.

Juice Bar in Athens

A Loving Family

In Athens there is this place where they make fresh juices, squeezed from real fruit, whose cost is derisory. At the top there is a billboard that says:

The idea for the creation of this store, and the way it functions, bloomed within the financial crisis and relies on the notion of "helping each other”. Its name, “Loving Family", wasn’t a random choice. It reminds us that within a crisis we should support each other and become one big happy family in order to survive. Just at first glance, you realize that the prices in this store are incredibly low and the products are top quality. We have minimized our own profit to support you and all we ask in return is your support to keep us going.

PS: I love Greece and its people.

Ponte Vecchio Although it might look a glimpse from some wild countryside, this bucolic landscape is right down the road from where I live.

Ponte Vecchio
Although it might look a glimpse from some wild countryside, this bucolic landscape is right down the road from where I live. It’s the Ponte Vecchio bridge, over the Aniene, the second river in Rome.
Indeed, it’s one of the two oldest bridges in what once was suburban Rome, at the times of ancient Romans. So old that when Charlemagne crossed it, that bridge was already 1.000 years old.

Funny picture taken at Uffizi Gallery in Florence

The voyeur
Some people look at the world only through their smartphones. Even in museums.
The guy peering into the girl’s smartphone is Evangelista Scappia, in a portrait by Francesco Francia, 1500-05. (Taken at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.)
